Metcash reappoints Starcom for US$22 million media account in Australia

SYDNEY - Metcash Trading Limited has re-appointed Starcom as its media agency partner for its estimated US$22 million account in Australia following a competitive close door review.

Metcash is a leading marketing and distribution company operating in the food and fast moving consumer goods categories.

Starcom will continue to handle all communications planning and buying for Metcash’s brands and business arms including IGA, SIGA, Cellarbrations, the Bottle-O and Campbell's Wholesale.

The Publicis Groupe agency will tap on a centralised national strategy and negotiations plan for Metcash with local implementation by teams across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

On re-appointing Starcom, Anthony Abdallah, Metcash general manager of commercial, merchandise and procurement, said: "Starcom has delivered tremendous value to our business since its initial appointment, delivering on all of its commitments to our business. We are really pleased to extend our partnership with Starcom and confident the agency will continue to add value to our business."

Starcom Mediavest Group Australia CEO John Sintras added: "We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Metcash.
