Google's AI-powered video platform Veo 2 integrated into Brandtech’s marketing platform Pencil Pro

Marketers such as Japan Airlines have already begun using Veo 2 for in-flight video content.

Google's AI-powered video platform Veo 2 integrated into Brandtech’s marketing platform Pencil Pro

Tech giant Google has announced the integration of its new video generation model Veo 2 into Brandtech Group’s AI marketing platform, Pencil Pro, as part of a new partnership.

The announcement was made by Lisa O’Malley, Google’s senior director of product management for Cloud AI, at Google Cloud Next in Las Vegas during a keynote speech.

With this partnership, Pencil Pro users have access to Veo 2 high-quality video creation from text/image prompts as well as access to other Google tools in the one platform.

This includes Gemini for text generation, Imagen 3 for image creation, and Google’s ABCD Framework for asset analysis and video ad optimisation.

Google ran an internal pilot programme which included 50 campaigns run by its marketing team via Pencil Pro, and 80,000 AI generations, delivering 25,000 creative assets.

The tests showed a 20%–30% reduction in time and cost for premium creative content and up to 90% savings in producing content at scale.

Brandtech’s founder and CEO, David Jones, said, “We are witnessing a seismic shift in what’s possible for brands. By integrating Veo 2, we are providing our clients with the most advanced video generation tool available. The results we’ve achieved in partnership with Google Cloud are staggering, and this is just the beginning of what Gen AI will make possible in marketing.”

One example of a brand that publicly uses Veo 2 for campaigns is Japan Airlines, which uses the tool for in-flight video content showcasing Japanese destinations. It takes less than 15 hours from concept to final cut, handled by Brandtech’s Jellyfish and Pencil teams.

The result is 60-second cinematic-style videos which are shown on seatback screens to passengers and cutdowns for YouTube and social media.

JAL’s managing director of global marketing, Minako Kent said, “We are always thinking of ways to help travellers curate memorable itineraries and learn more about traditional and unique travel experiences throughout Japan.”

As part of the partnership, Pencil Pro is now also available via the Google Cloud Marketplace, allowing Google’s clients and partners seamless access to its capabilities.

With this integration, brands can create, edit, and publish AI-powered video, image, and text content in one place and deliver content directly to socials including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

Brands will also be able to use performance prediction, creative scoring, and brand-safe Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) libraries as well as scale content production while staying compliant with brand guidelines and Google’s ABCD ad standards.
