The incumbent is believed to be Rubicon Consulting. Ogilvy PR will now be working to build brand recognition for Eu Yan Sang in local and regional markets including China, Macau, Hong Kong and Malaysia through a media campaign while establishing the local TCM firm as an industry thought leader.

On the appointment, Joanna Wong, vice-president of brand management and corporate communications at Eu Yan Sang, said Ogilvy PR’s sound and appropriate strategies, the strength of its global network, and synergy with the Eu Yan Sang’s management teams went in their favour.

She added: “We have had a good relationship with our incumbent PR agency for more than seven years but after such a period of time, we needed new and fresh ideas. Our business has evolved and as we progress to take on global markets, we were looking for a PR agency with a strong global connectivity and a track record to support us.”

Ee Rong Chong, deputy MD of Ogilvy PR Singapore, said: “Eu Yan Sang is the largest TCM group in Southeast Asia and a leader in adopting a scientific approach in the production of TCM products. Our mandate is to help build and enhance their corporate reputation and create visibility for their brand through contemporary and leading edge communications."
