OMG names new Hong Kong group CEO

Deric Wong promoted from his previous role as CEO of OMD Hong Kong.

Deric Wong, previously CEO of OMD Hong Kong, has been promoted to group CEO for Omnicom Media Group's agencies in Hong Kong.

The new role puts him in charge of OMD and PHD, as well as OMG's specialist business units across search, content, programmatic and analytics. 

Wong joinec OMG in 2008 and was previously managing partner, strategy of OMD China and OMG Hong Kong. He is credited for several new client partnerships in Hong Kong, including Dairy Farm's supermarket chains, MGM Cotai and SmarTone.

Tony Harradine, the new OMG APAC CEO, who replaced Cheuk Chiang recently, said: "Deric has established a solid track record of continued performance over the past decade. As CEO of OMD Hong Kong, he has positioned the agency at the forefront of the digital frontier—a feat that has resulted in numerous accolades being bestowed on both himself and the agency."

On his promotion, Wong said: "Hong Kong is an important market in the APAC region, one that is constantly evolving to provide fresh opportunities for businesses. I’m very honoured to take on these expanded responsibilities to further build our credentials, grow our agencies’ talent and power our clients’ business growth in Hong Kong.”
