Lai brings 14 years of experience in internet marketing to the agency. He was most recently head of digital, China at Euro RSCG 4D, where he managed many international brands including Audi, Dulux,  Estee Lauder, HP, IBM, Jaguar, Nivea and Starbucks. Prior to that, he was vice-general manager at Madhouse for three and a half years.

At Maxus China, Lai will report to Annie Hsiao, the agency’s president, and will work closely with Maxus digital heads in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. He will be responsible for the strategic growth and operation of Maxus' digital business in China.

Meanwhile the 15-year media veteran Leon Chen has been appointed as managing director of Maxus Shanghai. He joined the group in May, replacing outgoing Vicky Hsueh who was promoted to managing director last year a role that had been vacant for one year.

Chen was previously deputy general manager of Starcom Taiwan, where he developed strategies and communications for clients like Mercedes-Benz, Heineken, Honda and Mead Johnson.
