What would Bruce Lee drink? Punchin’ Milk Tea or Kickin' Coffee

HONG KONG - What's Bruce Lee's favorite drink? Answer: Wah-taaaah! It's an old joke about the kungfu master's "war cry". Now Lee's daughter is updating the joke into a 'saleable liquid' concept.

The official Bruce Lee Instant Drinks launched in Hong Kong yesterday with eight flavours inspired by the legend himself, according to licensing company Bruce Lee LLC.

The product line includes two flavours each in four beverage categories: Kickin’ Coffee, Punchin’ Milk Tea, Slammin’ Honey Lemon and Smashin’ Chocolate, with Chinese herbs including licorice, wolfberry and ginseng added.

The company describes the beverage line as "new, healthy choices with great taste", and the "pride of Hong Kong" at an "affordable premium price".

“I am pleased to bring my father’s life and philosophy back to Hong Kong through Bruce Lee Instant Drinks," stated Shannon Lee, the owner of Bruce Lee LLC. "I made sure that this product captures my father’s essence and his pursuit of excellence. It is also a way for us to keep promoting a healthy lifestyle and well being in his name.”

Lee's enduring popularity provides "instant familiarity", along with associations of Lee's achievement and positive attitude, said Daniel Bergbaum, CEO of BL Balanced Lifestyle and Beverages Limited.

The products went through rigorous testing over a period of 12 months in order to bring Hong Kong consumers these unique beverage options that are especially tailored to the Chinese market, the company stated.
