Chow (pictured) came on board in mid April. She has been working in China for two and a half years, most recently as general manager at Publicis Beijing. Prior to her promotion at Publicis Beijing in March 2010, she was the Greater China business consultant at its Beijing office, working on the LG and HP accounts.

Chow’s two-decade advertising career with a number of 4A agencies including JWT, BBD and Publicis, has covered a wide spectrum of industries, including FMCG (Unilever, Nestle, Colgate-Palmolive), telecommunications (PCCW, Smartone Vodafone), retail (7-Eleven, Watsons Personal Store), hotels (Lee Gardens Hotel, Marco Polo Hotel) and utilities.

IN the 1990s, she served as marketing manager of Hong Kong Telecom, helping to launch one of the first ISP services in Hong Kong and working closely with partners like Acer, Compaq and HP.

As a keen driver, Chow also has extensive knowledge of the auto sector working, on accounts like Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen.

“We are very pleased to welcome Rayne to Y&R at a time when the network continues to grow in China and the region as a whole," said Charles Sampson, chief executive officer of Y&R China, "Her extensive experience across a variety of product categories makes her a valuable addition to our team."

"I have seen the progession of the Hong Kong economy, working on the FMCG accounts in the 80s and finance and IT clients accounts in the 90s, including Bank of China and Visa,"  Chow commented. “Given Y&R Beijing's already impressive portfolio of strong brands like Dell and Amazon.cn as well as its growth trajectory, I very much look forward to being part of this continued success story.”

Meanwhile, Alice Lee, GM of Y&R Beijing has moved on to Mindshare to handle the Nestle business.
