OpenX opens in Australia

OpenX is increasing its Asia-Pacific operations with the opening of an Australia outpost and the hire of Mitchell Greenway as director of partner services for Australia and New Zealand.

Greenway will be tasked with deepening the SSP’s existing publisher relationships in the market, which includes Microsoft and Ebay, as well as striking new partnerships with local publishers.

Based in Sydney, he joins from Bauer Media Australia where he was previously the digital sales and audience director, responsible for overseeing digital revenue across the Bauer Media Consumer portfolio. Over his two-year tenure at the media group, Greenway grew programmatic revenue 160%.

Prior to his role at Bauer, Greenway spent several years in various advertising and sales roles at Yahoo, Val Morgan and Cirrus Media Australia.

The opening of the Australia office forms part of OpenX’s broader APAC expansion. Earlier in the year it opened a regional headquarters in Singapore, hiring Andrew Tu as managing director of APAC and Cheryl Tan as account director for Asia.

Tu said: “We will approach Australia with the same unrivaled commitment to quality and trusted partnership that has helped our international business flourish over the past decade and plan to rapidly grow both in-market, and throughout Southeast Asia more generally.”

The adtech company claims to have added dozens of new publisher partners in APAC in the first half of 2019.
