PEOPLE MOVES

PHD appointed Eileen Ooi to lead its Malaysia operations, reporting to newly appointed CEO of Omnicom Media Group Singapore & Malaysia Ranga Somanathan. Ooi was previously general manager of strategy and platforms at Maxus Malaysia.

Lin Liu (刘清琳) has a new job as head of strategy and planning at Isobar China after clocking planner experience at at least six other agencies in China and United States. Previously, she also served one year as Brand VP at Naked, a Chinese resort brand that has expanded into co-working spaces and children’s learning centres.

Noëlle Gahan has joined Burson-Marsteller Hong Kong as managing director. She will be the deputy key client relationship leader for the PR agency’s Huawei account, and brings more than 25 years’ industry experience with her, mainly in China and Hong Kong.

Ogilvy Melbourne appointed Danielle Chapman as group account director leading BMW and Mini; Rebecca Heard as senior strategy planner; and Ryan Clayton as senior art director. Chapman has held senior roles at Publicis Mojo, GPY&R and most recently at CHE/Proximity. Heard has UX, digital and CRM experience in both agencies and client companies. Clayton joins from McCann.

Michelle Yeo joins the senior consulting team of QED Consulting. She previously held regional digital and integrated marketing and communications role at Coca-Cola and Lego.

ComScore promoted Jonah Ken Tan, previously solutions director, Asia-Pacific, to vice president, Southeast Asia, effective immediately. Based in Singapore and reporting to Joe Nguyen, senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Tan will lead the business in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. He steps into this position following the departure of Kerry Brown.

Jack Morton Worldwide appointed Lucille Essey as VP and executive creative director for Hong Kong. She was most recently show director for the grand opening of Studio City Macau and also has experience at Luminous Experiential, MSLGROUP and Uniplan, as well as an earlier stint with Jack Morton Worldwide.

Advertising veteran Sachin Talwalkar has joined Edelman as regional executive creative director for South Asia, Middle East and Africa, based out of Mumbai. He was most recently at Commonwealth/McCann, and has previously worked for BBDO Dusseldorf, Saatchi & Saatchi and Contract/JWT. He will oversee Edelman’s creative teams across the region.

Dillah Zakbah rejoined BBH Singapore as creative technologist. She first joined in 2009 as product manager but then managed an advertising startup, joined a team of former BBH tech specialists to create a chat app (now acquired by Google), and led the creative technology offering for Havas Singapore.

Recruitment firm Salt appointed Simon Lo as country director in Hong Kong following its acquisition of a stake in Font, a specialist recruiter in the marketing, creative and digital space, based in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand.

Grey Group Indonesia appointed Sawitri Hertoto as head of activation and Nugroho Nurarifin as executive creative director. Hertot returns to Grey from McCann, where she was previously group brand director managing L’Oreal Paris, Maybelline New York, and Cathay Pacific. Nurarifin has worked at McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy & Mather, and Y&R.

Australia’s Tonic Health Media appointed Rohan Thomas to the newly created position of network and content director; he will run production activities for the company’s network of 1,100 screens in medical practice waiting areas. He was previously with Altervision.

WINS AND DEALS

ABC Kraft Heinz Indonesia selected VML Indonesia as its digital partner to handle the ABC brand, which has a presence in soy, chili, shrimp paste, beverages and canned foods. VML will be leading digital strategy and owned-channel executions.

Wunderman Shanghai has been appointed as the integrated communications agency of record for Campanile Hotels in China. The agency will handle strategy, creative, social media and digital execution. Campanile is part of Groupe du Louvre, headquartered in France and the second largest hotel group in Europe with a network of more than 1,100 hotels in more than 51 countries.

Ruder Finn Asia and Engage, a member company of EON The Stakeholder Relations Group, have signed a partnership agreement under which Engage will become the Philippine affiliate of Ruder Finn's comprehensive Asia Pacific network. The agreement will enable Engage to tap into the Ruder Finn international network in all markets outside the Philippines.
