According to reports in The Straits Times, a Mitsubishi spokesperson has said that the company will not be renewing its contract with Neo's company, J Team productions.

Jack Neo was until now endorsing the Starmex air conditioner brand for Mitsubishi.

A representative from Chuo Senko, the agency which handles Mitsubishi's air conditioner business, confirmed the news and said that "the agency was in the process of pulling out all the ad campaigns across newspaper, outdoor and TV as soon as possible."

Asked if the client and the agency has found a new celebrity, the representative said that the agency will focus on resolving the current issue before working on that.

It is understood that Mitsubishi's air conditioners are targeted at families and it is believed Neo was seen as a suitable candidate for reaching out to that segment.

On 6 March, Chinese evening daily, Lainhe Wanbao, broke the news of Neo's extra-marital relationship with Wendy Chong, a 22 year-old model who has acted in two of his films. Neo has confessed to a two-year affair.
