Walsh replaces Peter Hunter, who was promoted to the role of CEO for iProspect Asia-Pacific earlier this year.

He joins after three years at Neo@Ogilvy, where he is credited with opening its Sydney office, reaching revenue and profit targets and expanding its strategy offering to include search, social media and mobile.

He has additionally spent six years as executive media director of NetX, which once claimed to have been responsible for one in every eight online ads in Australia.

“This valuable experience provides him with an effective set of skills to help organisations traverse the ever changing digital marketing landscape,” Lee Stephens, CEO Aegis Media Pacific and Digital CEO Aegis Media Asia Pacific, said of the hire.

Walsh’s appointment comes as iProspect, which is Aegis’ search engine marketing brand, looks to expand across Asia-Pacific, with up to 10 new offices in eight countries announced earlier this year.
