Rapport, IPG Mediabrands' out-of-home buying and planning agency, is launching in China, with Jennifer Zhu, formerly China GM with WPP's OOH agency Kinetic, as MD.
At Kinetic, Zhu led the Wavemaker China and Nike Greater China OOH business. She has more than 16 years of experience in the space and has also worked with clients including Richemont Group, General Motors, Mercedes Benz, Chanel, H&M, LVMH, Prada, Rolex, Gap and Ikea. She will be based in Shanghai, reporting to Michael Cooper, global president and CEO of Rapport Worldwide.
Rapport is in 16 markets including APAC operations in Hong Kong, where it launched last year, India and Malaysia.
A MAGNA Intelligence study released in January said APAC is the largest OOH region, with nearly US$13 billion in sales in 2018. The region's OOH growth is expected outperform the rest of the world over the next five years.
“The Chinese OOH market is now the third largest in the world," Cooper said in a release. "The rapid urbanization of the Chinese population, coupled with market first adoption of evolving digital technologies means that OOH growth is outperforming at 9%."
