Tham was previously Southeast Asia managing director for Fleishman-Hillard - a position he held for eight years. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Ogilvy PR where he rose through the ranks to become managing director.
On joining Edelman, Tham said: "Edelman, through its independence and entrepreneurial culture, is constantly challenging new boundaries for communications. There is a strong sense of being able to define our own destiny with our people's and our clients' best interests at heart."
"We're delighted someone of Kok Wing's stature joins our team, as he brings a deep understanding of the corporate landscape in the region," said Bob Grove (pictured), managing director Edelman Southeast Asia.
"I'm confident we have the finest leaders to guide our clients through the increasingly complex communications landscape," he added.
Separately, following a highly successful year managing Edelman's corporate practice in Singapore and the consumer practice regionally, Sanchez has been promoted to a new role but remains actively involved in some of the existing Singapore client relationships.
On his appointment, Sanchez said: "True brand marketing is underserved by most PR firms across the region. Edelman has been a pioneer in Asia for a few decades, and now I'm proud to move into a role that proves our commitment to deliver the latest and most relevant integrated brand marketing capabilities across the region."
