BEIJING - Trends Media Group is partnering with Audi to debut China's first-ever LED magazine cover for Esquire China's October issue.

Esquire China's October issue to have LED cover

Esquire, which is published by Trends Media Group in China, will apply the E-Ink technology to create China's first ever LED magazine cover in its October issue.

Audi is the world’s first car brand to utilise the LED headlight design for its Audi A4 model.

It is estimated that 20,000 copies with this special LED cover will be sold in bookshops in central business districts and airports in tier one and two cities in China.

The production cost of the magazine is Rmb130 (US$19) per copy, but the retail price will remain Rmb20 (US$3).

Shirley Zhang, publisher of Trends Media Group, said, “Once again we have proved that we are not only a leader in covering fashion trends, but also a leader in embracing innovative publishing methods in this digital age for brands."

According to Trends, it took as long as six months to change the idea of an e-cover into reality. The e-Ink printing technology enables the lighting of the LED cover to last for six months.
