Chinese sportswear brand Peak signs NBA player Tony Parker

HONG KONG - Peak Sport Products has signed an endorsement agreement with Tony Parker, a four-time NBA All-Star and point guard for the San Antonio Spurs.

Chinese sportswear brand Peak signs NBA player Tony Parker

Parker marks the 17th NBA spokesperson for the Hong Kong-listed Chinese brand, with previous endorsers including JaVale McGee, Kevin Love, Kyle Lowry, Shane Battier, Dorrell Wright, and Jason Kidd.

Parker, who has played for San Antonio since 2001, gave up his Nike contract in order to sign up with the smaller sneaker company. Peak's signing bonus to Parker was reportedly double of what Nike offered.

Under the terms of the three-year deal, Parker will be featured in a national television advertising campaign that will begin airing in China in May. In addition, he will help develop a line of shoes and apparel bearing his autograph and conduct basketball camps in China during the offseason.

Xu Zhihua, chief executive of Peak, said Parker has displayed self-confidence on the court and "represents a warrior's spirit", both of which are consistent with Peak's 'I Can Play' brand image.
