Douglas was formerly the strategy director at UM Sydney, managing the Unilever business for the past seven years.

Tracie Michael, CEO of Initiative Australia, said, “I tried to hire Anneliese two years ago in my previous role. I believe she is one of our industry’s most insightful and effective strategists, with a superb track record on major brand names.”

In additional appointments, the Australian operation put Andrew Mudgway in charge as managing director of Initiative Melbourne last week. Kendra Hatcher King also joined Initiative in a newly created role as worldwide director of insight and innovation. She is based in New York and will report to Richard Beaven, the worldwide CEO.

"The demand for insight has never been greater. Everyone wants it, but few know what ‘it’ really is or how to use it properly,” said King.

"By coupling insight and innovation with the muscle of performance, we have the ability to transform intelligence into magic,” she adds.
