As part of the agency’s international study programme for digital and design students, Z Academy, two teams of young future marketers stand to win a trip to the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

The contest invites candidates to devise an explanation as to how they came to be named marketer of the year ten years from now, in any format — for example an acceptance speech, a biography, a news report, a video reel, a portfolio of future work or an obituary.

Matt Batten, creative director of Wunderman Sydney, said the agency was “interested in seeing how well [candidates] use the media channels in ways we haven’t seen”.

The two winning teams will be flown to Cannes in June to attend Wunderman’s global creative meeting, and again in 2021, regardless of location.

“I believe when as an industry we commit to programmes that reinforce the creativity that people bring to our business, especially those at the beginning stage of their careers, we improve as a whole,” said Daniel Morel, Wunderman’s chairman and chief executive (pictured), in a statement.
