Rumsby’s appointment builds on Weber Shandwick’s recent goals to strengthen senior management in Australia. Other appointments include Elke Pascoe as head of lifestyle along with Carly Herrig as head of corporate.
In his new role, Rumsby will report directly to Tim Sutton, chairman of APAC. He will also continue in his current position as executive vice-president of strategic development for Asia-Pacific.
“The opportunity to work more closely with our management team in Australia is enormously appealing. It remains a key market for Weber Shandwick in the Asia Pacific region,” said Rumsby, who has been with the agency for the past nine years.
Emma-Jane Granleese continues to manage the Australian operation as managing director.
