The agency is tasked with building awareness of Unilever Food Solutions products and services across Southeast Asia, as well as ensuring the company’s global communications objectives are met across the region.

“Ate impressed us not only with their in-depth F&B knowledge but also their experience in managing regional campaigns,” said Mariam Chan Brimer, channel marketing manager, SEA at Unilever Food Solutions. “Our business is ‘by chefs, for chefs’ and Ate know how to most effectively communicate with food service operators of all shapes and sizes.”

Part of the Unilever Group, Unilever Food Solutions owns brands such as Knorr, Best Foods and Lipton.

Grayling Asia is understood to be the incumbent, but the agency did not respond to Campaign Asia-Pacific’s query by press time.

The appointment will see Ate Integrated Communications developing and delivering strategic communications campaigns in Singapore. It will also work with Unilever Food Solutions marketing teams to coordinate and lead a network of PR agencies in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

Unilever Food Solutions is also working with Ate to conceptualise and deliver new programming for its global network of Chefmanship Academies, which offer training to 100,000 kitchen professionals across the world each year.

“Unilever Food Solutions have exciting brand and product communications plans in the pipeline for 2012/13 and we’re looking forward to working with them and their other partner agencies to maximise exposure across Asia,” said Daniel White, business development director at Ate Integrated Communications.

Ate Consulting was relaunched in June as The Ate Group with a more integrated approach to communications. It now consists of Ate Integrated Communications, Ate Digital and Ate Ideas.

It made two senior appointments to oversee and manage growth across the business, naming Daniel White as business development director and Suzy Goulding as public relations director.

It was recently appointed as the public relations agency of record in Singapore for German Beer Bar and Restaurant franchise Brotzeit.
