Rob Ferguson, the former managing director of Questex Media Group, will fill in as the sales director for the Hong Kong, Korea and South East Asia-Pacific sub-region. Ferguson will come on board on 19 April.

Ferguson is based in Hong Kong and will report directly to Tim Pinnegar, managing director at The Economist Group Asia-Pacific.

His duties include advertising sales for The Economist, Intelligent Life and online media for the group. Additionally, Ferguson will also oversee the sale of sponsored research.

The moves are said to be part of a management reorganisation of The Economist Group. Pinnegar added: “Our goal going forward is not only to maintain this dominant share of the international print market but to position ourselves to a wider customer base as an integrated solutions provider.”

The Economist Group has also boosted its sales team with the appointment of Nicholas Bruneau as its advertising and sponsorship manager in Hong Kong.
