The appointment follows a multi-agency pitch also involving a Group M agency and incumbent RK Swamy.
The brand currently has a network of over 600 retailers in India and a product range including pocket multi-tools, fine cutlery, time pieces and travel gear. The manufacturer of the original Swiss army knife was founded in 1884.
"Victorinox stands for reliability, innovation and functionality and we know that with this extremely enthusiastic team, we will be able to communicate our message loud and clear,” said Victorinox India MD Anish Goel.
“We felt the MPG approach was thorough and insightful. Their strategic thinking, drive and passion gave us the confidence to believe that this will be a successful partnership," Goel continued.
CEO of Havas Media for South Asia Anita Nayyar added, “As an agency we found many synergies with Victorinox’s management, their brand values and approach towards media planning and buying. In them we have found a client, who appreciates strategic rigour and innovation as much as we do.”
The account is estimated to be worth more than US$2 million.
Reported earlier this month, MPG launched regional mobile marketing arm Mobext in Asia, starting in India.
