The agency confirmed the appointment today and work on the account will commence immediately.

Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing joins Starcom Beijing which is tipped to have won China Telecom's media pitch held last month.

Saatchi & Saatchi is immediately tasked with handling a branding assignment for China Telecom's consumer brand Tianyi. The agency will also work on other service-specific creative campaigns, including Tianyi Broadband, Tianyi's brand-defining service.

Saatchi cited that the new branding strategy will encompass most consumer services and some business services, and facilitate China Telecom to live its vision of becoming "the total telecommunication services provider".

The agency said that this is the biggest win for Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing since new MD Michelle Jiang took charge of the office just four months ago. She will also be in charge of the account.
