Kingdom Digital secures Eva Air's creative AOR for Malaysia

Taiwanese privately-owned airline Eva Air has appointed Malaysian digital agency Kingdom Digital as its creative agency of record for the local market, expanding a partnership that began in 2017. This move is important for the Malaysia shop that will transition from its existing role as Eva Air's social media agency to managing full-service creative partner, including brand awareness initiatives, promotion of flight routes, and consumer engagement efforts.

Founded in 1989 as an affiliate of the Evergreen Group, a global shipping conglomerate, EVA Air has grown into a diversified aviation business. In addition to its passenger services, the airline operates air cargo, airline catering, ground handling, and aviation engineering divisions. It is consistently recognized for its safety and premium service, ranking among the top 20 safest airlines globally by AirlineRatings.com.

Kingdom Digital, established in 2007, is a leading Malaysian creative, digital agency that became a subsidiary of Japanese advertising network Hakuhodo in 2022 after the latter acquired an 80% stake. The agency is known for its innovative campaigns and has won multiple accolades, including top honors at Campaign Asia-Pacific’s Agency of the Year Awards.

Eva Air’s deputy manager, Au Yong Yoon, spoke about the expanded partnership, and said, “Kingdom Digital has been instrumental in establishing our social presence in Malaysia since the beginning. We are excited to see the creative initiatives the team will bring to help us expand our wings and reach greater heights in the local market.”

As part of its expanded responsibilities, Kingdom Digital recently completed its first campaign [see Instagram reel below] for the Taiwanese airline under the new mandate to create a travel-inspired experiential event. Among other attractions, the campaign also featured a collaboration with top Malaysian speciality coffee brand HWC Coffee, to offer beverages inspired by countries of Asia, the West, and Taiwan.

Kingdom Digital’s client servicing director, Lui Xiao Yee, described the appointment as a milestone and said, “Working with their team has always been a rewarding experience, and we’re excited to spotlight more of their world-class services and captivating destinations for travellers.”
