RoadShow rolls out bus with high-powered sound system for music-related marketing

HONG KONG - RoadShow, the OOH media channel in Kowloon Motor Buses, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, has today rolled out 10 new buses outfitted with 10 pairs of premium JBL hi-fi speakers and amplifers.

RoadShow rolls out bus with high-powered sound system for music-related marketing

RoadShow said the new 'Qbus' buses (the "Q" stands for quiz) are a one-of-a-kind in Asia.

A spokesperson said the busses will be running wide-reaching bus routes covering Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, and 50 more Qbuses will be rolling out within this year.

As part of this "enhanced ambience" marketing platform, the sound system will be installed on the upper level of the buses. The system will be used to play Cantonese and international music videos, as well as an interactive quiz dfor passengers, who will use QR codes to access the quiz answers via facebook.

The spokesperson told Campaign Asia-Pacific that this new upgrade answers Hong Kong people’s habits, as many people when they are taking buses play with their smartphones, update Facebook, surf the web and listen to music. Hence the system offers advertisers an intergrated marketing platform including the bus body, interior, TV screens, music and internet.

The spokesperson added that Qbuses are particularly suitable to brands who are music-related like record companies, makers of audio-video equipment and concert organisers.

Roadshow organized a press event yesterday at their HQ and today is rolling out a print and OOH campaign today to promote the buses.
