New Christchurch convention centre to debut at AFNC 2018

Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) says it will be showcasing three new exhibitors at the Associations Forum National Conference (AFNC) 2018 coming up later this month in Australia and key among them will be the much-anticipated Christchurch complex.

“We’re excited to debut Te Pae, Christchurch’s new convention centre opening in 2020," said Sharon Auld, CINZ's Australia manager. "Also, we are welcoming the recently relaunched Cordis Auckland, formerly The Langham. Venues Wellington, with six venues across New Zealand’s capital, is another partner joining us for the first time.”

AFNC, which began in 2006, is considered a key industry meeting for associations in Australia and New Zealand and will be held at the Gold Coast Convention ad Exhibition Centre July 15-17.

CINZ has also planned a new look for the '100% Pure New Zealand' space. “We’ve designed a welcoming place to visit and learn what’s unique about New Zealand as a business events destination, from study tours to congresses, and experiences beyond the convention,” Auld said.

New Zealand representatives at AFNC are:

  • Auckland Convention Bureau
  • ChristchurchNZ Convention Bureau
  • Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ)
  • Cordis, Auckland
  • New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC)
  • SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre
  • Te Pae, Christchurch
  • Tourism New Zealand (TNZ)
  • Venues Wellington
100% Pure New Zealand team at AFNC last year: Craig Murray - Rotorua, Maxine Wallis - Cordis, Sharon Auld - CINZ
