Following a competitive pitch, Lululemon has awarded its media planning and buying account to GroupM for branding and digital performance across Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia.

Campaign has learned that this is a two-year contract that adds to the agency's existing scope in Japan. The agency won the business from Havas, with sources indicating that its understanding of local market nuances and its innovative approach were key factors in securing the account.

Under the partnership, GroupM will focus on driving business performance for the global athletic apparel giant through strategic thinking and a willingness to innovate.

The announcement comes as WPP, GroupM’s parent company, recently acquired InfoSum, a global data collaboration platform. InfoSum will integrate with GroupM to power AI-enhanced marketing solutions delivered through WPP’s secure data infrastructure.

Separately, Lululemon has named K-pop star Kazuha of Le Sserafim its newest global brand ambassador.
