Microsoft appoints Jason Scott as GM for Asia

REGIONAL - Microsoft Advertising has appointed Jason Scott as the new general manager for Asia.

Scott will relocate from Singapore to fill the role left vacant by Richard Dunmall following his promotion to vice-president of global agencies and accounts in November last year. 

In his new role, he will be responsible for growing revenue and market share of display, search, ad networks and online properties including MSN, Windows Live, Office Live, Xbox and Bing. 

Previously based at Microsoft in the US, Scott was general manager of global agencies for the past two years. Prior to that he was director of digital marketing and sales and subsequently commercial director for Ninemsn in Australia .

Before joining Microsoft, Scott worked at GGT Advertising, CIA Media and Euro RSCG.

Commenting on the appointment, Carolyn Everson, corporate vice-president for global ad sales and strategy at Microsoft said, “Jason is the perfect candidate for this role as he has both extensive experience in leading sales teams and a history in this geography.”

“Asia is the fastest growing region for digital advertising, and hence an extremely important market for us. In fact digital advertising growth has outpaced radio, magazines and outdoor advertising to become the third largest advertising medium in the region. We are seeing the start of immense growth,” added Everson.
