The appointment follows an almost two-year stint at Aspac/Law, where Gomez was instrumental in the company winning the first ever Independent Agency of the Year award and the Maxcellence award for herself.

“I am happy that things have come full circle, and I am now joining Blackpencil in a position that will help lead them to an even more challenging and fun place,” Gomez said.

A communications graduate from Ateneo de Manila University, she has served on the board of the Creative Guild of the Philippines.

She joined Aspac/Law in September 2010, leading the integration of the agency’s creative team and digital arm, and revitalising the agency’s brand identity. She has worked with brands such as LBC, Insular Life, Splash hair colors and PICC.

Gomez was also previously with PC&V as creative director, leading a team that launched C2 Green Tea and Fab; as well as JWT, handling Unilever and Pfizer brands.

Raoul Panes, chief creative officer at Leo Burnett Manila, said, “After a long wait, we finally welcome Kat to the Leo Burnett Group. Her proven creative acumen and the experience she has gained in building brands successfully will help take our creative work to the next level.”
