MALAYSIA - Sports promoter GlobalOne has appointed Hill+Knowlton Strategies to lead PR for the Maybank Championship Malaysia golf contest in 2017.

Held at Saujana Golf and Country Club from 9 through 12 February next year, the championship will see leading golfers from across the globe compete for a US$3 million prize. H+K will handle all communications strategy and execution.

The agency’s Malaysia office will run the project, overseen by Lorna Campbell, H+K APAC regional director, sports marketing and sponsorship.

She said: “The rising golf talent across ASEAN is a strong focus of our campaign this year so over the coming months we will be activating an integrated communications plan that will engage media and consumers around ‘Golf like never before’.”
