Bates 141 Shanghai and GroupM scoop MSD accounts

SHANGHAI - GroupM has scooped the media business for global pharmaceutical company MSD in China.

The incumbent media agency is Equinox. GroupM won the business after a three-month competitive pitch involving two other undisclosed agencies.

The scope of work includes media planning and buying for both on and offline media. The product range covered in the contract includes over the counter products like Clarityne, Eloson, Marvelon and Mercilon.

Meanwhile in a separate pitch, Bates 141 Shanghai has won the creative account for MSD's skin rash cream Eloson after a pitch against at least four undisclosed agencies.

Josephine Tsai, MD of Bates141 Shanghai said that Eloson is positioned as a premium brand in China. Bates 141 has been briefed to make the brand to more accessible for the mass consumers without diluting its premium brand image.
