“We are pleased to be working with Blugrapes to build the official Facebook Page for ad:tech Singapore and reach out to our regional visitors of the event,” said ad:tech Singapore's vice president Paul Beckley. “This showcase on Facebook will empower the community of professional marketers to stay truly engaged and connected with both ad:tech and fellow attendees throughout the event.”

Blugrapes currently oversees clients’ campaign management, campaign optimization, fans acquisition and fans management on Facebook.

The news comes as Facebook claimed more than 400 million users by February this year, with 1.9 million active Singaporean users.

The announcement comes one week after Facebook opened an operations office in Hyderabad, India – its first in Asia.

According to reports, Facebook extended its presence to the market in to better manage its fast growth in the region, and its office will include advertising and development units.

Facebook has emerged as one of the region’s top social networking sites, despite not having had an office in Asia. Friendster is currently a leading SNS in some Southeast Asian markets, although Facebook has recently gained ground in the area, while local sites such as Mixi in Japan, Cyworld in Korea and QQ in China dominate much of North Asia.

Facebook currently has offices in global centers Palo Alto, Calif.; Dublin, Ireland; and Austin, Texas.

According to its website, Facebook is currently looking for ad- and sales-account managers Singapore and Sydney.
