Harbin Beer orchestrates cross-border games, literally

The brand staged games at China's border with five neighbouring countries. But it's really about the beer.

In 'Happiness without borders', Harbin Beer and BBH Shanghai organised a series of friendly games directly on the boundary between China and five of its 14 neighbouring countries: Russia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

The games, held over a 30-day period, seem to have provided an excuse for a beer-drinking and bonding session in each location. Which proves once again that Coca-Cola might not be the best choice if you really want to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. Beer is by far the more powerful beverage when it comes to breaking down barriers and building feelings of kinship.

If the video lays it on a little thick with the soaring music and the slow-motion shots, Ad Nut doesn't mind. Because no one could argue with the sentiment expressed by a gentleman near the end: "Whatever happened between us, it will be OK after we have a drink together."
