The agency has hired Melvin Kuek and has promoted Alicia Carey to the newly created roles, to oversee service delivery to clients that include LG, M1, Bank of Singapore and Cerebos.

Kuek joined from The Gate Worldwide where he was the general manager, leading new business and client development opportunities. With client management experience on M1, NTUC, Changi Airport, PayPal and McDonalds, he has also held senior account management posts at DDB Singapore and TBWA/Tequila.

Carey, meanwhile, has been with Y&R Singapore for two years as regional business lead (APAC) for LG, and has recently taken on additional client responsibilities.  Prior to joining Y&R, she was with BBDO and Publicis, working on brands such as Dell, Electrolux, Hertz, Gillette and StarHub.

Commenting on the new structure, Matthew Godfrey, chairman at Y&R Singapore and president at Y&R Asia, said, “Melvin and Alicia are highly experienced industry professionals, totally committed to effectively managing the client/agency relationship. Looking after existing clients is the cornerstone of success for any agency and it’s great to have them both on board.”
