Y&R Group restructures office and team in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR - Y&R Group Malaysia has announced plans for a new office structure and has acquired a host of new staff and business assignments.

The Malaysian office and its creative departments have been rearranged around three business units to comprise Y&R, Y&R Brands and Paragon. Staff and competencies between the three units will be harnessed in the restructure.

In terms of management, Rishya Joseph remain at Y&R until mid-2010 in order to affect a smooth transition in working with the old and new teams plus clients.

Rishya Joseph and Robert McBrain (pictured), who joined in September last year, will continue to partner and work together as chairman and CEO respectively during this time.

Ida Rahman has been promoted to creative director of Y&R Malaysia while Ed Ong returns as regional head of copy and Lily Cheong joins as traffic head.

For Y&R Brands, John Durai joins from Naga DDB as creative director. Gus Ng has been appointed to head Y&R Brands with Durai and will jointly manage the day-to-day operations of the unit.

At Paragon, Resham Ibrahim has been promoted to creative group head to work alongside Nawi Abiidin who joins from Bozell Worldwide.

Y&R Group Malaysia has also been appointed to creative lead assignments for Penguin and Faber-Castell.
