WE Communications today announced the next step in the agency’s Asia-Pacific leadership restructure, promoting several market leaders into wider roles from April 1.

Rebecca Wilson, CEO of WE Buchan, will expand her remit into Asia in becoming executive vice president, Australia and Singapore. The current Australia and Singapore managing directors, Gemma Hudson and Jeremy Seow, will become CEOs of their respective markets, reporting to Wilson.

In addition, WE Red Bridge CEO Penny Burgess will oversee the agency’s Greater China practice, encompassing Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai, supported by head of strategy Nicky Wang.

Anne Geronimi, current APAC brands lead and Hong Kong managing director, is leaving the agency “to pursue other opportunities”, WE said in a statement. As such, Kevin Hartnett, Hong Kong head of strategy, will take over operations as Hong Kong general manager.

The new positions follow WE Communications’ announcement last month that Alan VanderMolen has left the agency, and that Kass Sells was promoted to global COO and president, international, overseeing APAC.

“WE Asia Pacific businesses have had years of strong growth in both scale and client portfolio,” Sells said. “To maintain this momentum, the expanded remits of our leaders will enable us to better serve our clients by delivering a consistent, seamless, high-quality experience for clients in the region and around the globe.”
