Vocanic has set up offices in Hong Kong and Malaysia to better serve local clients in these markets. The move is to cater to an increasing demand for social media marketing services in the region.

“Over the last six months, we have seen increasing interest from brands in all things social. They are now beginning to either experiment initially or wholeheartedly integrate social media into broader outreach campaigns,” said Ian McKee, CEO of Vocanic.

“Our clients have started to see real value from customer engagement through word of mouth and social media interactions, and this is just the beginning.”

The agency has also added 12 new staff across these three offices, increasing the headcount to 24. Among the new hires include Shreeniwas Venkatesan Iyer as the head of technology.

Iyer was previously technical team lead at Yahoo Southeast Asia.
