VMLY&R today announced that Malaysia group managing director, Lisa Hezila, is to leave the agency.

In a statement, the agency said Hezila is stepping away after 15 years “to pursue personal interests”. She will leave at the end of March and hand over duties to Eric Ho, who was named managing director effective 1 January.

Hezila began at Y&R in 2004, as general manager of ParagonY&R, and in 2012 was named managing director of Y&R Malaysia. She built the agency into what she said is “the robust digital-first agency it is today”, and that it is an exciting time for the newly created VMLY&R.

Ho arrives from VMLY&R’s Singapore regional headquarters, bringing more than decade’s communication experience from both agency and client-side. He previously led new business development in then-VML’s Singapore government practice, and market development for Malaysia.

Tripti Lochan, VMLY&R co-CEO, said: “Lisa has been a bundle of energy, enthusiasm and optimism for us over the decades. She helped put VMLY&R on the map and has been a trailblazer in the industry.

“Eric is an exceptional leader, who comes with over 10 years of experience in future oriented digital marketing – and we look forward to his continued dedication.”
