UPS promotes Peter Tan to regional director of brand communications and sponsorships

HONG KONG - UPS Asia-Pacific has promoted Peter Tan as its regional director of brand communications and sponsorship.

Tan succeeds Tan Sock Hwee who has accepted a position at UPS headquarters in Atlanta as international communications coordinator.

Based in Singapore, Tan will oversee all of the sports marketing, sponsorships, advertising, customer communications, direct mail, public relations and employee communications in the region.

Prior to his promotion, Tan was based in Beijing as regional director of the UPS Beijing 2008 Olympics Project. He managed the organisation’s sports marketing, sponsorships and all marketing activities associated with sponsorship of the Games.

Since he started at UPS in 1994, Tan has held various management positions in communications, business development and marketing. He also spearheaded the Asia launch of the company's re-branding project in 2003.

Tan will be reporting to Christopher Grubb who was appointed as head of marketing for Asia in September last year.
