Tanbir Rahman hired to spearhead digital initiatives for OMD Hong Kong

With his new appointment effective immediately, Rahman (pictured) will be leading online initiatives and developing specialised services to enhance OMD’s value proposition to clients.

He will work closely with Roid Sin, CEO, OMD Hong Kong. Sin said digital platforms now encompass "a wide range of opportunities that call for a new set of talents, tools and resources", to which Rahman added that the way the media industry leverages digital platforms to engage consumers was "fascinating" to him.

Rahman has more than 18 years of experience in the Asian mobile and internet industries, having started his career in Hong Kong in 1993.

Since then, Rahman has occupied a variety of senior positions providing e-business solutions, mobile marketing services and digital strategies for blue-chip global clients like Intel, Citibank, and KLM.

Prior to joining OMD, Tanbir worked on consultancy and research projects for NGOs to help them harness the potential of digital and social media for raising awareness and generating income.
