Working alongside UK based global strategy director Laura Krajecki, she will be responsible for developing next generation approaches to communications strategy for Starcom's extensive network of clients through thought leadership, training and product development.

Starcom MediaVest CEO John Sintras said, "Emma has been a great asset to Starcom for many years now and is the perfect candidate for this new and exciting role. I am delighted that Starcom continues to be able to provide global opportunities for our people, and that our network continues to recognise the quality of our talent here in Australia."

Montgomery began with Starcom in 1998 working within the research team before moving into the role of strategic planner, followed by national research and accountability director. Montgomery was appointed to the role of strategy director in 2008 where she has been responsible for leading client strategy across Starcom's major clients while overseeing the strategic direction of the Sydney office.

On her new appointment, Montgomery said, "I am very excited to be taking on this new opportunity with Starcom as it will provide me with the chance to help shape the future communications product coming out of Starcom globally at such a changing time in media."

Montgomery's appointment follows Starcom MediaVest's Australian CEO John Sintras being named as chairman of its Global Product Committee (GPC) in addition to his CEO responsibilities in Australia. Montgomery will work alongside Sintras and Krajecki to assist the GPC in implementing its work across the Group. Montgomery began in her new role during January.
