Spikes Asia 2012 winners revealed

ASIA-PACIFIC – Dentsu, Ogilvy and JWT have taken home the most Grand Prix awards at Spikes Asia 2012, with each network awarded two of the top accolades.

From the 4851 entries to Spikes Asia 2012, 13 Grand Prix were awarded, 68 Gold, 136 Silver and 177 Bronze. 

Dentsu Tokyo was awarded a Grand Prix in the Digital category for its “Connecting lifelines” campaign for Honda. PARTY Tokyo / Dentsu Tokyo also clinched the Grand Prix in the Mobile category for SONY’s “Make TV”.

Ogilvy’s “#Cokehands” was awarded a Grand Prix in the Print and Poster Craft and the Outdoor categories.

JWT Melbourne won a Grand Prix for it's "Wi-Fiction" campaign for the Melbourne Writers Festival in the Direct category, while JWT Singapore won a Grand Prix in the Radio category for its "Radio Prank" campaign for Unilever Singapore. 

Other Grand Prix winners include:

  • Media: Mindshare Mumbai, “Where what you grow is what you eat”, Hindustan Unilever
  • Branded Content and Entertainment:  Host Sydney / The Jamboree Sydney, “The Kiwi skeptics”, Air New Zealand
  • Creative Effectiveness : Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, “Break up”, NAB
  • Film: Cheil Worldwide, “What does your mind see”, Samsung
  • Design: IyamaDesign Tokyo, “Mt Ex Taipei”, Kamoi Kakoshi
  • Print: DDB Sydney, “Bikers-Police", Volkswagen
  • Promo and Activation: 303 Lowe Sydney for “IKEA catalogue”, IKEA

No Grand Prix were awarded in the Film Craft, Integrated and PR categories.

BBDO was named Network of the Year, followed by DDB and Leo Burnett. DDB Sydney was crowned Agency of the Year, with Dentsu Tokyo and BBDO Guerrero, Makati City taking second and third places respectively.

Party Tokyo was named Independent Agency of the Year, with Taproot Mumbai and the Monkeys Sydney taking the second and third spots.

Media Agency of the Year was awarded to Mindshare Mumbai, followed by Cheil Worldwide, Seoul and Whybin\TBWA Group Sydney.

Meanwhile, in the Young Spikes competitions, the Hong Kong team from Grey Group took Gold in the Integrated category, followed by the Philippines and South Korea.

The India team from Maxus was awarded Gold in the Media category, with New Zealand and Japan awarded Silver and Bronze, respectively.

The Philippines won in the Agency Shoot Out competition, with Japan (Hakuhodo + TBWA) and Japan (Dentsu) taking Silver Bronze.
