Sony Pictures gives away cash for DVD returns in Australia

Advertising agency Iris Sydney partners with SPHE on this through-the-line campaign which urges consumers to slim down their DVD collections by offering AUS$5 cash back for every unwanted DVD.

“Every great cause needs a hero and when you’re looking for someone to take out the trash and clean up people’s DVD collections, Van Damme is your man,” said Tom Hoskins, creative director at Iris Sydney.

Hoskins continues that Van Damme has the perfect image as the “judge, jury and executioner" for 'The Great DVD Amnesty' initiative.

Media strategy is handled by Slingshot Media Ventures and PR managed by Hausmann Communications. The campaign is also spreading virally on You Tube with more promotional videos.
