Philips launches geeky-sweet comedy series ‘Nigel and Victoria’ online

The eight-episode, mock documentary series ‘Nigel and Victoria’ is mainly aired through YouTube and due to start this week on Philips.com.

Nigel (played by Ben Willbond) is a marketing manager at Philips, while beautiful Victoria Koblenko is a tech-savvy gadgets critic. Nigel is tasked to manage a series of video shoots featuring the latest technologies with Victoria. Much drama unfolds as Nigel tries to make a good impression on Victoria.

Fans can follow the drama through Facebook, and a personal take on the situation from Victoria’s Twitter account.

Gary Raucher, VP and head of integrated communications at Philips Consumer Lifestyle mentioned, "Consumers want brands to engage with them in an open and credible way. They also want brands to make entertaining content that they can discover for themselves and share online. ‘Nigel and Victoria’ is a great example of this and we hope the public embraces the show."

This project follows Philips' widely successful ‘Parallel lines’ project which won a Cannes Lions Grand Prix this year.

Reported in August, Philips is currently in the process of reviewing its digital business. The account is held by Tribal DDB.
