Pepsi China hires TBWA's Integer as AOR for retail communications

SHANGHAI - Pepsi China has appointed Integer China, TBWA China's retail marketing agency, as agency-of-record for retail communications for all of its carbonated soft drink brands, including Pepsi, Pepsi Max, 7Up, Mirinda and Mountain Dew.

Integer China  will develop and manage all retail and creative development, including communications, packaging, point-of-sale merchandising, online, roadshows and print ads, for these brands for 2010 campaigns across hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores and fast-food restaurant chains in China. Integer China will also work closely with Pepsi’s above-the-line agencies BBDO and DDB.

The appointment was confirmed without a pitch. Integer China has been working for Pepsi on a project basis for the past two years.

Chris Tung, VP of marketing, PepsiCo China, said: “This is the first time we have appointed one agency partner to provide us with a total retail solution. We will continue to offer innovative products and communications based on shoppers’ needs to keep us on top of the retail competition. I am confident that Integer will help us to achieve that goal.”

Eric Wong (pictured), GM of Integer China, said: “There is a lot of commitment and trust in this partnership. We will also work seamlessly with the client’s other agency partners to transform the brand message into the retail context to drive sales and brand presence in the retail channels.”
