OMG Hong Kong promotes Deric Wong to head of strategy and insights

HONG KONG - Deric Wong, formerly strategic planning director for Omnicom Media Group (OMG), Hong Kong has been promoted to newly created head of strategy and insights, effective immediately.

Wong will now lead the consolidated 10-strong team of strategic planning, insights and production under OMG Hong Kong and also play a key role in enhancing the strategic planning capabilities for both OMD and PHD.

 

Wong will also work at a regional level as the champion of ETNA (PHD’s proprietary planning approach) for PHD Asia Pacific and PHD Greater China, He has also been named as a member of OMG’s global creative council.

 

He will report to Cheuk Chiang, PHD’s Asia-Pacific CEO, who leads both initiatives on these responsibilities, as well as Mark Holden, PHD's global strategy director based in London and Jackson Kwok, CEO of OMG Hong Kong.

Wong joined PHD in June 2008, and his role was expanded in July last year to cover both OMD and PHD as strategic planning director for OMG.

 

Hailing from Malaysia, Wong is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. His track record in sales, marketing, advertising and media has spanned across a spectrum of industries, the agency said. His portfolio includes work for City of Dreams, Altira Macau, Tempo, Vitasoy, Town Gas, Asana Wellness and The House of Dancing Water.
