OMD Taiwan wins Asia Pacific Telecom from Vizeum

TAIWAN - OMD has trumped Vizeum in a pitch initiated by Asia Pacific Telecom Group (APTG) for a new media agency-of-record in Taiwan.

The pitch began earlier this year and initially involved incumbent Vizeum, OMD, Starcom and Agein Media, a local agency. A spokesperson from Omnicom Media Group (OMG) speaking on behalf of OMD, said the account was worth US$5 million in billings.

The newly assigned media services include both traditional and digital media planning and buying, as well as social media planning and monitoring.

OMD's duties came into effect at the beginning of March after Vizeum's service period for its first telecom client ended in February after two years of work. Max Ling, GM of Vizeum, confirmed the move when contacted by Campaign Asia-Pacific.

In Taiwan's telecommunications market, APTG competes with Vibo Telecom, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile and Far Eastone Telecommunications.
