Back will be leaving in February to take up the newly created and national role of chief creative officer at Ogilvy & Mather Australia. Details of his replacement have not been revealed.

He joined O&M in December 2010 and has spent the past two years as CCO. He was formerly executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi Australia.

Ogilvy Australia CEO Andrew Baxter said Back’s experience on big brands and proven success with campaigns will be a great asset to the agency’s creative team.

"Our creative prowess has grown substantially during the past 12 months, and with Back joining the team, we will have the depth and strength to make 2013 an incredible year of creativity for Ogilvy Australia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mouritzen, managing director of OgilvyOne, is being drafted into a new regional role at the agency. No details about the role have been announced, but it is described as a “new strategic initiative for the region”.

“OgilvyOne has grown considerably in the last couple of years and has developed new areas of expertise including Social CRM, data and technology under Thomas’ leadership,” said Fiona Gordon, chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Singapore. “In his new role, Thomas will continue to drive innovation.”
