The newly created role follows the formation of Mediabrands' new global structure which is based on client business opportunity, rather than geographic location. The move to a new cluster structure earlier this year saw the the creation of three groupings - 'G14, 'North America' and 'World' markets.

Based in London, Damond will be a member of Iniatiative's worldwide leadership team and will work across all the markets in the G14 cluster (which follows the United Nations grouping of G8+6: Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and the UK).

Damond joins Initiative from Ogilvy Europe, Africa and Middle East, where he was a managing partner, leading new business. His 13-year career with Ogilvy includes work with Ogilvy Interactive and running Ogilvy One in Paris.

Commenting on Damond's appointment, Bader said Damond's experience would be invaluable as Initiative rolls out its communications solutions for clients across the G14 nations.
