GroupM agency m/Six today announced it has opened a new Asia-Pacific hub in partnership with international advertising network The&Partnership, with Kevin Rooney heading the operation.
The decision comes after m/Six won Electronics Arts’ global media account, which includes planning and buying responsibilities in Australia, New Zealand and throughout Asia.
Rooney returns to m/Six after being Mindshare CEO for Korea and Japan, based in Tokyo, for a year. He was previously managing director of m/Six APAC and oversaw its expansion in the region since it entered the region in 2013, bringing in clients including Telekom Malaysia, Burger King and Malaysian Airlines.
“It’s great to be back in m/Six, I’m delighted to be ableto kick off with the launch of our new Sydney office and looking forward to reconnecting with our teams across the region,” Rooney said in a statement.
Jess Burley, m/Six global CEO, said she was extremely happy to welcome Rooney back to the agency, and that the Sydney APAC hub expansion is “a great opportunity to continue our growth in the region”.
m/Six now has 11 APAC offices.
