OMD China worked on the media account for just three months after being appointed in February.

An OMD China spokesperson said, "There were a lot of irreconcilable differences with standard finance payments. We couldn't reach an agreement and mutually decided to sign a short-term contract running from February to May instead."

The client also invited OMD China to join the pitch in April but the agency declined to participate.

Lashou.com, which was launched in March 2010, is already one of China’s leading group buying websites. Vizeum said that it has now become one of the largest deal-of-the-day shopping websites with operations in over 500 cities in China.

Amei Zheng, MD of Vizeum China, noted that the China market still has huge room for growth and they are honoured to be able to work with a market leader like Lashou.

She also noted that the agency will be facing more challenges ahead and experience fierce competition with many other participants in the market.
